  • Set up (installation) fee: You can choose from a selection of companies that install ignition interlock devices in Illinois, but most of them charge about $85 to install the device.
  • Monthly rental charges: This device is not yours, it is rented. The cost of monthly rental is about $80.
  • Reporting fee: You must pay $30 a month to the Secretary of State's office, which collects data from your ignition interlock device. If this data reports that you have failed any breath tests, you could be facing additional felony charges that mandate jail time and thousands of dollars in fines.
